Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was first person to reach a flawless 10 during an Olympic celebration. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci at just six years old. Her first competition was at the junior national championships in 1969, finishing 13th. She won the competition in 1970. In 1972, at the communist nations' meet for juniors before the Olympics, she won three gold medals. In 1973 and '74 she was the all-around junior champ. In her first international competition as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals and one silver. In 1976 she became the world's first woman to utilize a reversed double salto in order to take off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment industry as a performer as figure skater. With her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the entertainment industry as a teenager. Her career began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. These shows included the ice skating of which was performed to music from the stage.
