Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on August 9 1976 the eldest child of four. Audrey's parents who was both dentists and a teacher, recognized and supported their daughter's enthusiasm for theater and drama at the age of a stage novice. This support was more than enough to overcome her original goal of becoming a an animal scientist. The rise of her as an actor in the young age was swift and marked by early success. Following her studies in 1998 she was a participant in an French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching her acting career in earnest. Though she was a student at The Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has distanced herself from the Catholic tradition, saying that she is not officially Catholic. She pursued a modelling career in addition to her acting work and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. Apart from her acting career she also has an interest in photography. She recently exhibited some images at Arles Film Festival. Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. In her photographs, she is mainly focused on celebrities and fame. The camera is turned at journalists, who sat and watched her as she rose to the heights of fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou's worldwide popularity and success exploded following her appearance in the film as Amelie Poulain's leading lady in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a film box office successes and was acclaimed at awards ceremonies all over the world. Amelie is the most successful french-language film to hit the US. After the film, she appeared in many films that ranged from British dramas up to Jean Pierre Jeunet's long dimanche de fiancailles. Then she moved into Hollywood and starred with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
