Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet fragile characters, is one of the most well-known American actors of the present. When she was a child, spending time at the house of her father, she developed an interest in the theater. Following her studies at Brown University for a while before transferring to Juilliard School to study acting. Her Broadway career soon after completing her degree, and then made her television debut the following year. Her appearances have been in a variety of films, and television and stage productions since then. Through her entire professional career, she's received several awards. Some of them include two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. In spite of all these accolades, her love for theatre remains, and she still performs in the stage and on screen.
