Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. Her first Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her performance in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh has worked in projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford has been working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings in Over an Century. She was the star of two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin, Hector Elizondo, and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford has been raised in Denver is now based living in Los Angeles and New York.
